The Fraser Family

Vinnies have been the angels that have been there for us.

The Fraser family has been surviving on Sam’s carers pension, nearly going bankrupt and losing their home and belongings. They endured hardship after hardship, and eventually took a community member’s advice and asked for help.

There was no fuel in the car, the kids were missing school – they were under immense pressure. Most nights they just had beans on toast for dinner. For every step the Frasers took forward, it felt as though they got pushed back two. Every time things got tough, they didn’t know how they would get through.

“Since then, it’s been a few years, and we are slowly getting back on our feet. Vinnies have been the angels that have been there for us,” says Jane.

“I hope one day to own our own home, be in a better position financially and return the kindness, joy and help to Vinnies to help others the way you have helped us.”

With help from Vinnies and the community, Jane and Sam’s children had presents under the tree this year, and they even enjoyed a Christmas ham.

“Thank you to all at St Vincent’s for all they’ve done for me, my husband, and my children from the bottom of our hearts,” Jane said.
